GotVMail

Our friends over at GotVMail.com, the entrepreneur’s phone system, recently interviewed Territory Real Estate for their customer case studies.

“Not long after Terry Sanford and Marla Mullen began working as real estate agents, they realized that many homebuyers wanted to work with a real estate agent who only represents people on the buy-side of a transaction and would not pressure them into buying a home with amenities they didn’t need, or was above their price range.

Seeking to eliminate what they saw as a conflict of interest for many real agents who represent both buyers and sellers - often in the same transaction - they founded Territory Real Estate, a Boston-based exclusive buyer agency catering to technology-savvy and do-it-yourself young professionals in Greater Boston.

“We’re trying to provide a no-hassle, no-pressure atmosphere, and trying to avoid pushy sales tactics,

That’s Enough to Buy One Sweet Doghouse

Helmsley Ad

The “the Queen of Mean” has passed but her spirt lives on. Leona Helmsley died earlier this month at her Connecticut home and according to her will, which was made public Tuesday in surrogate court, she left her beloved white Maltese, named Trouble, a $12 million trust fund. She also left millions for her brother, Alvin Rosenthal, who was named to care for Trouble in her absence, as well as two of four grandchildren from her late son Jay Panzirer — so long as they visit their father’s grave site once each calendar year. She left nothing to her two other grandchildren — Craig and Meegan Panzirer — for “reasons that are known to them,” she wrote.

Ouch! Mabye she earned her nickname fair and square.

Her residences will be sold off and proceeds donated to the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.

Closing Escrow

Now this is some funny sh**, and I don’t say that JUST because I work in Real Estate.

Favorite quotes from the trailer… “There are fixer-uppers out there, and then there are houses that can be made into fixer-uppers.” & “I am your slave, I work for you.”

“Utterly Bizarre”

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

“It’s one more bizarre example of people trying to save what appears to be an unviable project. If it isn’t viable, it shouldn’t be built. Why are we throwing money at something the private market won’t support?” - Back Bay Representative Martha M. Walz in regard to MassHousing’s decision to ignore its own guidelines and award more than $20 million in low interest loans to the controversial Columbus Center development. The loans for the luxury condo development will come from funds specifically set aside for affordable rental apartments.

Zakim Bridge is Falling Down, Falling Down, Falling Down…

Friday, August 17th, 2007

Zakim Bridge

“Six steel plates that hold in place support cables of the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge show signs of warping, and the state needs to quickly determine whether they present a hazard to tens of thousands of people who cross the bridge daily, according to a federal inspector general’s report” - Boston.com

Best quote in the whole article is from Bernard Cohen, the state transportation secretary and chairman of the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority. “It is not a safety issue, but rather a defect associated with the installation.” Brian do you think you could elaborate on how a defective installation is not a safety issue!

The Esplanade Becomes… A Highway?

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

Storrow Detour

“The Patrick administration revived a plan last night to build a temporary bypass road through the Charles River Esplanade to expedite reconstruction of the crumbling Storrow Drive tunnel, igniting outrage among residents who decried the damage that would be inflicted on the widely used park in Boston’s historic Back Bay.”

- Boston.com

This is brilliant, if you were a politician why wouldn’t you run full speed ahead with a plan that is sure to piss off every wealthy voter in your city (ie Beacon Hill & Back Bay residents)?
