I just received an email from a local mortgage broker with WAMU.

“Dear Client and Friend,

It appears that Washington Mutual is going to close mortgage operations in the New England market, which are also all places where they have no retail banking presence. In addition, they will be severely cutting back operations in all other areas of the country.

This closure will be imminent.”

Wow! Can anyone confirm this?
